Genting Bahamas Casino Lawsuit and Financial Fraud Allegations
Genting Bahamas casino lawsuit at Lotus Asia. A significant lawsuit against Genting Americas alleges financial fraud in the Resorts World Bimini project, raising concerns about

The civil action, lodged in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, claims the partnership with RAV Bahamas has descended into a “financial wasteland,” portraying Genting’s operations as rife with fraudulent activities that mask financial instability.
Allegations of Wrongdoing
The lawsuit, initiated by RAV Bahamas, draws attention to several concerning practices, including exaggerating profit margins and manipulating debt ratios related to various Genting projects, both domestically and internationally. The Capo family, owners of RAV, assert that they have not seen any financial returns from the joint venture due to Genting’s control over project finances.
The History of Resorts World Bimini
RAV Bahamas initially acquired 700 acres on Bimini Island with plans to develop a premium vacation destination. By 2011, they erected the Bimini Bay resort, which later engaged Genting in 2012 to collaborate on a casino extension. This resulted in the creation of BB Entertainment, which would manage the casino development.
Despite the opening of Resorts World Genting in 2013, RAV claims that the project has never been financially lucrative. Current reports indicate that BB Entertainment has over $800 million in liabilities, overshadowing the liabilities of Genting’s numerous subsidiaries.
Corporate Transparency Concerns
The lawsuit further asserts that Genting employs a labyrinthine corporate structure that deliberately obscures its financial dealings, enabling the concealment of its fraudulent activities. RAV Bahamas seeks $600 million in damages, arguing that only extensive corporate fraud could account for such a massive deficit within a relatively small island resort.
Conclusion
This lawsuit presents serious allegations against Genting, revealing significant financial discrepancies and governance concerns within the company. As legal proceedings unfold, the financial future of Resorts World Bimini remains uncertain, emphasizing the need for increased transparency in corporate practices across the gaming industry.
